I have been the graphic designer for the Brighton based music label and club night ‘Wired’ for a long time now. It is a pleasure to work with a client who has very high standards and always wants to take the artwork to the next level.
Although they already had the logo design done, we developed their brand identity together and established a strong visual identity for the club night and label artwork.
The designs have always followed an evolution of ideas to slowly implement features which keep the artwork looking modern and fresh for each new release or event.
Often the label’s song releases have tied in with the next club night artwork because they are associated with the music policy of the nights. Even though they are similar entities, the label music covers always had a style of their own, to differentiate the two different aspects of the business.
Some of the work created for the club night includes flier and poster designs, created in many different sizes, using a variety of printing techniques, like gloss or matte laminates for special events which make the final printed material really stand out. The designs were always created with how they were going to be printed or produced in mind for the best possible outcome. The label covers were designed for use online to promote the new tracks on Beatport and other music promotional sites.
Most of the artwork is vector based with the addition of a few photographs added into it. This means it can be used as very large posters without any loss of quality.
On top of the regular flier and poster designs, I also created other marketing for them, like VIP cards and Facebook customisations and header images.
