Flyer designer for food related industries

I have designed a bunch of food related artwork in the past, so I thought I’d share some of my favourites here.  You can see a few food flyer designs I’ve done for business based in Brighton, East Sussex below.

(Sandwich, cake & coffee) Food flyer designs

The images above show some food based posters and flyers designed for Use Your Loaf.  These were intended to be used as point of sale designs, to entice customers into the cafe.

All of the designs were built around some stunning food photography.  I then created the typography and used layer masks to ensure that the copy looked like it had been printed/painted onto the background.  Therefor creating a cohesive image that blends the message into some eye-catching imagery.

Catering or food flyer designs

Use Your Loaf catering flyer designs

The food flyer designs shown above were created for a catering business based in Sussex called Use Your Loaf. The concept was to create artwork that looked like it had been burnt into chopping boards. These were cut out into the shape of a bread board to make them stand out and give them the edge over the competition.

Careful consideration needs to be given to artwork when preparing it to be cut into a particular shape. There is inevitably some movement, once they are printed and being cut out, so the artwork needs to work even if it is displaced by a couple of millimetres.

Rebrand Design Case Study Sketches

The flyer design shown above was created for Bakra Cakes, a company based in Brighton, East Sussex who make Hungarian Chimney Cakes. I was contacted to help design an eye-catching A5 flyer to increase their presence in the local community.

The flyer design was based on a few different concepts I was supplied with. A lot of these were striking food imagery with inspirational messages illustrated on them. I used a number of different fonts and illustrative styles to highlight each individual selling point. Using so many fonts and styles is usually frowned upon in flyer design, but I feel this helps illustrate the individual aspects of the chimney cakes business.

Luckily they had some great photography on file, which I edited, to make suitable for printing and to ensure that the copy was legible and clear.
